Margherita`s Pizza in Newark

Calling this place a bad restaurant is an insult to bad restaurants everywhere. For this place, food quality is an oxymoron. Literally every food item on the "menu" is a trainwreck. The place is dirty, tables are a mess, and if you're lucky the staff will treat you to a mid-meal smoke in the back room. I wish there was a way to give this dump negative stars. It makes you wonder what the state's restaurant inspectors are doing with their time and resources to allow a trash heap like this to operate. Stay away from this place!

Best pizza on Main Street. New York style by the slice, full pie if you want.

Excellent pizza shop. You get what you'd expect except the food is absolutely delicious. I highly reccomend the buffalo chicken pizza or the chicken cutlet parm

Great pizza and good atmosphere with a nice family vibe. Recently had the sicilian pizza, and regular 'NY style' slices. The new location has some tables in the back to and an expanded menu, so you can get more than a slice there. It would be great if you could get a beer or glass of wine.

The pizza is great and the staff members are friendly. It's always quite difficult to decide between this place and Mario's.

A Newark institution - I've been going since the '80s! I get the same thing every time - Cheese Pizza. I can't comment on any other menu item but the cheese pizza is thin, greasy New York style and is great!

When I ate the pizza it was greatest. Just like New York.

The wing are DISGUSTING , pizza is watery and slimey , calzone is packed with cheese and cheese is still cold inside , I wish I could rate under a one because it doesn’t even deserve stars. Ewe

I am an official Newark guide so you should listen to me. Remember the good old style of pizza? Thin crispy crust, savory sauce, nice sheen of oil glistening on top of the cheese: thats what you get here. They have several different pies ready to go if you just want a slice: veggie, meat, mozzarella, whatever. The first and still the best

Ordered a plain pizza. It was the worst pizza I have ever had in my entire life. The cheese tasted old, the dough undercooked and the sauce was terrible. I feel extremely sick from it and threw the entire thing out.Never eating from here again.

Best chicken salad ever literally a great choice for a healthy cheep meal.

Gone downhill since it's glory days. No longer the best around. But better than Dominos .... so it's got that going for it.

No one better. Good ole Italian pizza cooked right on the stone. If you grew up in Philly or New York this place will make you feel like you never left .To top off the great pizza they also cook a great dinner I never their new location. The clams, muscles and linguini is in point! I’ll be sure to revisit often and explore the menu. The staff is very friendly and are very prompt to serve your needs. A1 in my book

Closed a couple of months back.

They moved from their Main Street location to Elton Road but we are happy they are back in a nicer newer location!

It's Margherita's pizza. It's the best in the area, to me. Not much else to say, except that the one or two people giving one-off one star reviews with poor or petty reasons should give it another try. Sorry if that sounds like someone with a vested interest, it's just rare to find good pizza in Delaware, by all accounts.

Loved Margheritas on main st! This was my first time back since they moved. I ordered a cheesesteak wrap and it was missing the onions, mushrooms and peppers and fries were super soggy. My boyfriends cheesesteak was soggy as well. Dissapointed in my first experience back

Worst cheesesteak I ever had meat overcooked,,way,way to much salt on it never go back again I didn't even ask for salt ,never again place nasty.

Great place for great slices. They have been here as l I ng as I can recall and for good reason. The pizza is great. You wont be sorry for giving them a try.

Service is meh.... but the pizza is worth it!! Thin NY style slices that take up the entire plate. YUM!

Just left Margherita's Pizza. I ordered Broccoli Rab and an Anti Pasta salad. Everything looks great. My wife gives 2 Thumbs up on both. And she's picky.

The service was friendly and efficient. The food was delicious, and it was a good value. I would definitely return.

Absolutely the best pizza in the area. I've been eating there for 15 years, and they have consistently produced a pie with perfect crust and great toppings. I really like their white with tomatoes and broccoli.

Pizza was undercooked. They made a new one for us but with so many pizza places I won’t waste my time and money here again.

Extremely unsatisfied with customer service. They are open late, yet act annoyed to be there and are degrading and rude to customers. I will not be returning.
